Background
Annuliamo la Distanza is engaged in managing a foster home for orphaned children or those in particularly difficult family situations. Currently, there are four children living in the home: Abiel (10yrs.old), Mulugheta (11yrs. old), Kisanet (8yrs.old), and Hany (8yrs.old). All four are HIV seropositive.
Care is provided by our contact agent, Selamawit, who provide the children with the indispensable daily drug therapy, necessary for their survival, as well as meals, a clean and neat house, and the essential education. Annulliamo la Distanza maintains contact with the children and their teachers almost daily, via email as well as calling them via telephone twice a week. The ANLADI volunteers have been part of the association's organizational chart for quite some time and have taken the responsibility to monitor the growth of the children from a distance, to meet various needs, and to travel to Asmara approximately every three month.
General Objectives
The objective of this project is to allow the children to grow in an environment as homely as possible, ensuring that they receive the necessary medicines and allowing them to attend school on a regular basis.
